Welcome to holdemrulesreport.com. I have been playing poker for nearly 30 years and wanted to start this resource website so as to assist those new to the game. I do play online as well and explain the differences, and suggest strategies for winning at hold'em poker.

You might be like me and learned to play poker as a teenager with the family or friends.  There are always some crazy, zany games at someone's kitchen table, and you never knew what the dealer was about to do because as tradition probably had it, that it was his choice.  While those kind of games are more for socializing, than they are for winning, because one little wild card added to the game throws off a lot of poker math. In games like that, it's really anybody's game.

Depending on your friendly game, situations like that can get out of hand and be rather expensive.  That however does not take away from the mystique and ruler of poker and wanting to be good at it.  That's why millions of people play poker every day, either at home, a friends house, a casino, or online. You don't want poker to be expensive for you though, if all you're after is a little fun and socializing. However, most poker players these days want to know how to play profitably.  In that sense, you need to understand the fundamental poker rules for all games, and then strategies and tips for Texas hold'em, the world's most popular poker game.  If you only know one game of poker, then the rules Texas hold'em the game you need to know.

Poker really isn't that difficult to learn or understand the poker rules and betting sequences of the game. In fact, you must know these intimately well, because you don't want to be fumbling around at the poker table, when you really should be paying attention to your opponents.  You see, you can learn to play poker rather quickly, but learning to play poker profitably can take days, weeks or months, years, and for some people, it simply never happens. For those people, making money at poker isn't important.  Since you're at this website or its probably not how you think.

I think poker is all about understanding your mistakes.  You will make mistakes, but the difference between a profitable player and a losing one, is that a losing player may not know he is making a mistake and/or just doesn't care enough. Understanding, learning and adjusting to your mistakes, along with the deep understanding of the rules of poker, you cannot help but to improve.
